Silver Clay ring workshop: Wednesday 19 October!

Have you always wanted to make your own beautiful rings, but aren’t sure where to start? Then this could be the class for you!

We will teach you about sizing rings in Art Clay Silver, how to form the ring shank with the texture of your choice and how to fire and polish your beautiful new ring to perfection.

Our instructor will teach you some handy tips which will make ring making with Art Clay Silver easier than you ever thought possible!

And, as if that wasn’t enough, you will leave this class with a stunning fine silver ring.

This fabulous class is being held on Wednesday 19 October from 6pm to 9pm.  It costs £50 which includes cost of tuition, 10g of Art Clay, use of syringe and loan of tools. Please note, we recommend that you are confident using  Silver Clay before attending this class.

Exploring Silver Clay: Full day class: Sunday 16 October 11am-5:30pm

These great full-day classes allow students the time and freedom to really explore the potential of Silver Clay.

We will teach you the differences between the three frequently used types of clay – lump form, syringe and paste. You’ll also learn how to handle the clay, condition it, shape and form it, dry it, prepare it for firing, how to fire and how to polish.

Our instructor Emma Baird will also show you how to torch fire your pieces, as well as how to fire them in a kiln.

The most exciting part of this course is that you have the whole day and 20g of clay to truly explore the potential of this wonderful material. Make charms or pendants, or get to grips with snake rolling and the syringe, or even make a hollow bead like the one in the photo!

You can experiment with textured pieces, non-textured pieces embellished with the syringe and even add sparkle with gemstones. As ever, there will be a wide variety of projects on hand to inspire you!

Whether you are new to Silver Clay, or have a little experience you will receive expert guidance from our Award Winning Artist and Instructor – Emma Baird.

Suitable for beginners as well as those with experience, this fantastic course is running on Sunday 16th October from 11am – 5:30pm and costs £120 which includes 20g Art Clay Silver, CZ’s, use of a syringe, use of paste, tuition and a loan of all tools. There will also be unlimited tea and coffee and biscuits available through out the day.

The Little Bead Shop at The Scottish Bead Fair 21st August!

We can’t quite believe it’s that time of year again but… the Scottish Bead Fair is fast approaching.

The Little Bead Shop will be there as usual, at Perth Royal Convert Hall on Sunday 21 August.  We will have all of our beautiful beads and metal clay supplies and our very own Emma Baird will be demonstrating how to make her beautiful silver rose pendant using Art Clay Silver.

The Scottish Bead Fair is always a great day out and we’re really looking forward to it! Don’t forget to pop by our stand and say hello!

 

 

 

New Class! Sparkle Ring: Sunday 7th August £65.00

One of Emma’s new designs, this pretty ring is truly irresistible and really sparkles when worn. It’s a perfect piece of jewellery for summer.

Using metal clay,  this great  new class covers all the basics about sizing, forming and joining a ring shank.  Then, after drying and refining the ring in clay state you we will show you how to prepare the ring for the numerous gem stones, and then set and secure them.

Our instructor will teach you some handy tips which will make ring making with Art Clay Silver easier than you ever thought possible.  With a dazzling array of colourful gem stones available its hard to resist making one to match every outfit!

Best of all, at the end of the day you will leave this class with a finished, beautiful, sparkle ring!

This great class is being held on Sunday 7 August 12-4pm and costs £65.00.   Price includes tuition, 10g of Art Clay, CZ gemstones, use of syringe, paste, fine silver balls and a loan of tools.

Learn to Make Silver Fingerprint Charms with Metal Clay – Sunday 12 June

Silver fingerprint jewellery is as popular as ever, and due to popular demand we are again offering you the opportunity to learn how to capture a child’s or loved ones fingerprint in pure silver using the magic of metal clay.

In this class you will learn all the essentials of working with the clay, and different options for capturing prints. You’ll also learn how to set sparkling gemstones, engrave onto the silver, finish the jewellery to a high shine and how to patina the piece to bring out the print.

Our instructor will also show you some extra “secrets” to ensure that your silver fingerprint jewellery stands out from the rest.

The course will run on Sunday 12 June from 11am – 5.30pm and costs £120.  Price includes tuition, 20g of Art Clay, CZ gemstone, paste and a loan of tools.

We can’t believe it’s come around so quickly but… The Edinburgh Bead Fair is tomorrow!
